Feel Real Good

Hi, have you ever had a day where you just feel real good? Today was such a day for me. Nothing spectacular happened, just several nice things. First was my Weight Watchers meeting. I am truly enjoying this more with each passing week. Meeting new people. Now that I am working from home, I miss the socialization I once had. WW has given me a much needed outlet.

My blog has also been a blessing. While creating mine, I have found new blogging friends. One such friend is Dee with GrammysGrid.com. I say she is a friend because she has been a tremendous resource. She just makes me feel good by making me feel important, always answering any questions I may have about my website, software and such. Not to mention her prompt replies to the comments I add to her posts, that in itself makes me feel important.

As I have mentioned in prior posts, I had taken many senior portraits, family session, engagement pictures and weddings for 20 some years. I have since slowed down, only doing an occasional shoot here and there. This weekend was one of those here and there’s.

What lead up to this weekend was when I was on Facebook and saw a high school friend had just gotten engaged to another high school friend (Cris and Todd). Well, one of my 101 in 1001 goals (#99) is to be a wedding crasher. No bashfulness, I asked them when and where they were getting married. Does inviting yourself count as a wedding crasher? 🙂 I was flattered when they asked me if I would take their wedding pictures. Of course I said yes! We took a few engagement pictures this weekend.

Then I met my son, we filled his medicine pillbox, had lunch and then did grocery shopping. Our usual Saturday stuff. Always have a nice time with him. Then I drove home. As I was getting close to home, I had to pull the car over and take this picture.

“Home is not a place….it’s a feeling.”

Standing on the gravel road, looking at my husband’s and my home, I felt good. Still do when I look at this picture. My whole day was a feel good day. Driving down the road and seeing this, just made my day even better.

I have so much to be grateful for, and by the Grace of God, I can enjoy this for many more years with my husband. Amen!

May you enjoy a feel good day!

  1. I couldn’t agree more about how home is a feeling!
And how lovely about your high school friend’s wedding! That’s such an honour to be asked to take a friend’s wedding photos.

    1. Hi, Susanne. I went to your site and read your story. I am sorry you had an accident. A few years ago I was in a car accident and broke my pelvic bone in two places. Had to have pins. Did not walk for approx. 8 weeks. That was a tough time. I had forgotten how to walk! I had physical therapy and that was hard. But now three years later, I am walking ‘normally’ 🙂 I am sure you will be walking much better real soon!
      Thank you for visiting Gma’sPhoto!
      Take care and best wishes.

      1. Thank you, and I’m so sorry to hear about your pelvic fracture, that must have been so hard! Mine wasn’t an accident but a stress fracture (an overuse injury) because of running and, as I learned later, poor bone density. But I didn’t get a diagnosis and help on time so it’s been a very long journey. But I’m very happy to be walking now although I’m not yet back to normal.

        1. Stress fractures are painful, too! Are you taking anything for the bone density? My doctor has adv me to begin some shots and I am still needing to get them scheduled. Sounds like we may be experiencing similar things. I will be visiting your site to keep up on your progress.
          Take care and best wishes.

          1. I’m taking medication weekly to stop and/or slow bone loss, and I’m taking vitamin D and a ton of supplements plus track my Calcium intake. And the strength training I do helps a lot too. Hopefully all this will put me back into osteopenia range and I can manage it with only diet and resistance training.

    1. Hi, Leanne. Thank you for visiting! I absolutely enjoy taking pictures. Still have fun taking people pictures, however I am finding pleasure in landscape pictures now.

      Take care and best wishes.

  2. Great job on the weight loss! That is fabulous. I feel that way about the gym my mom and I just joined; it’s all ladies and I have met some really wonderful ones. Good luck with the wedding photos!

    1. Joanne, I had a wonderful time taking the wedding portraits! The wedding was this past Saturday.
I believe the experience we have with our weight loss program and friends makes a huge difference. I really like going to my Weight Watchers meeting. Making so many friends. Several even have given me their phone number should I need intervention on an eating binge! And I am sure your experience at the gym encourages you with your weight loss.
Thanks for visiting! Take care and best wishes.

  3. I wrote those words too some time back…as we ventured back ‘home’ this year to live where we knew everyone and it was familiar…sharing thoughts and words is part of being connected via blogging.

Thank you for sharing your blog post this week at Denyse’s Words and Pics for #WWandPics. I look forward to seeing you next Wednesday if you choose to add a post. Warm wishes and appreciation from Denyse.

      1. I always appreciate your linking up to #WWandPics this week and thanks for sharing your post. I hope to see you next Wednesday too. Warm wishes, Denyse.
And I just realised you shared this before…perhaps not in the future …and well done on your WW loss!

  4. Reading this post made me feel good. Your contentment really came through, and I realized we have a few things in common. I used to go to WW meetings too, and enjoyed them for much the same reasons you mentioned. And also, Dee at Grandma’s Grid was one of the first bloggers to reach out to me when I was getting started with support and much-needed advice.

    1. Hi Christie, thank you for visiting. How did you do with WW? Are you a life time member now? Yes, Dee has been wonderful, I appreciate all advice she has give me with my blogging.

Nice to meet you, Christie! I look forward to visiting with you more. Take care and best wishes.

  5. That’s a beautiful photo, and I well remember similar feel-good moments at our old home. I’m trying to find and hang onto moments like that in our new home as well, but it doesn’t come as easily. But God is still good, so I am content and am learning contentment even when life doesn’t go according to my plans!

  6. It does sound like you had a good day. It sounds like you are really enjoying the Weight Watchers meetings and it is amazing when you find a great blogging friend as not everyone in the real world understands blogging.
How lovely you got an invite to the wedding. x

    1. Hi Kim, yes- I am enjoying the WW meetings. Faces are looking familiar and we are laughing a lot!
      Thank you for stopping by.
      Take care and best wishes!
