Rainy Spring Day | My Sunday Snapshot #10

Hi, welcome to My Sunday Snapshot 10! The hot chocolate was my best friend the entire weekend. Friday and Saturday was cloudy and cold. Friday evening after going to bed my feet never did warm up. My husband is a heater and even laying next to him I could not warm up. The hot chocolate was a warm welcome!

A Sea of Rocks | My Sunday Snapshot #9

Hi, welcome to My Sunday Snapshot 9! Every week when I met up with Adam for our movie/dinner night, I stop into the Dollar General store. This particular store is rather new. The building looks nice and there are trees planted. The landscaping mainly consists of rocks around the trees. When you see it, no one would think twice. However, I did and each time I would go there I kept saying I ought to take a picture. I did this time! The interesting images taken are hidden in plain sight.

Topeka, KS Capitol | 101 in 1001

Hi, I had the fun experience while running an errand for my son. This errand took me to Topeka, KS. This city holds a special spot in my heart. First and foremost this is where my daughter and her family call home. Topeka is a city of history as well. #15 of my 101 in 1001 can be checked off!

While in Topeka I decided to visit the state capitol. The dome was my interest on this trip. For many years the dome was a lime green color. After the restoration, the dome is a dark brown. I wanted to get up close and see the changes.

This is how I remember it looking.

The images of Notable Kansans and of First Peoples were hanging on stone walls.

Briella, Brynlee and I were successful in climbing all 296 steps to the top of the dome!

We discovered after this climb, Brynlee is afraid of heights. Regardless, she was a trooper!

My Son’s Humor | My Sunday Snapshot #8

Hi, welcome to My Sunday Snapshot 8! My son, Adam, and I get together once a week for a movie and dinner. The movie is either on Netflix or Prime Video. Dinner is usually some sort of homemade dinner, not frozen dinners or take out. However, we did get Casey’s pizza this week. Have you ever had Casey’s pizza? IMO- it’s the best! Our movie (one I selected this time), DeepWater Horizon.

Adam is a typical young man. I have to remind him that I do need to use the ‘ladies room’ occasionally. So I tell him to be sure nothing is laying around in the bathroom he may not want me to see. This time when I had to use the restroom, the image above show’s the scene I saw. My son’s humor!
