Hi, today I am grateful for dreams. One of my 101 in 1001 is to vacation solo. My dreams of doing this has finally come to me needing to take action! I have always had a fear of traveling alone. Even going to see a show alone was something I did not want to do. However, I conquered that in my 101 in 1001 and it was not a bad experience. So I am dreaming of taking a trip. My plan is to go for a short solo venture to someplace in Kansas- most likely a day trip. With this decision made, I am already getting excited!

grooming nail care kit
Nail tools, a necessity!
Hi, today I am grateful for my nail/grooming kit. These small items I have taken for granted. I have started to carry a set in my purse for anytime I may need to use them. Not much is worse than when a nail breaks and the rough edge snags on clothes. Nice to be able to clip, trim or file the nail smooth.

Hi, it’s my Day 15 in 31. Today I am grateful for a girls day out! Linda and I went to Powell Gardens.

This is an absolutely beautiful place. The collage above features the chapel that is part of Powell Gardens. The day we were there, the chapel was going to close to the public at 3pm for a wedding. And what a lovely, perfect day for the wedding and wedding pictures. Not too hot for the bride and groom/wedding party for outdoor pictures. And certainly warm enough for the guests to mingle outside for the reception. If I were not with Linda, I would truly have been a wedding crasher that evening! 🙂

Once we arrived, parked and bought our admission tickets, we headed to the chapel first. This was a good walk. Beautiful things to see the whole way. We came upon a young lady having her senior pictures taken. Unlike the bride and groom who more than likely would have many layers on, this high school senior had on a short summer dress. A cold day for that dress!

As we were walking, a maintenance worker was driving a golf course coming towards us. Well, I stuck my thumb out like a hitch hiker. He stopped. We asked for a ride back to the visitor building. He did better than that. He gave us a guided tour of the 45 acre botanical gardens!

pet rock
My little pet rock!
Hi, today I am grateful for the kindness of my grand daughter. She made this little pet rock in her class at school. I keep it at my work desk. It usually will set on paperwork, a paper weight. Many times when I am on a call, I will look down and see this cute little rock. Brings a smile to my face!

Hi, it’s my Day 13 of practicing gratitude. Today I am grateful for a freshly brushed set of teeth! I feel so much better after doing this morning ritual. Love how my breath feels cool.

Hi, Day 12 I am grateful for the convenience of grocery shopping since COVID. Tonight I needed to pick up groceries after work. Ever since the COVID era and the changes to how we shop, the pick up method has certainly been one of my favorites. The self check out is my least favorite. Heck, with the pick up not only does the ringing up take place, but the items are picked out and delivered right to my car! 🙂
