What to Wear | October

What to Wear will feature different palettes providing ideas when you plan the wardrobe for individual pictures or your family images during the holiday gatherings.

What to Wear | October features ideas for all family members: mom; dad; big brother; big sister and little brother and little sister. Have fun preparing your stylish look for family pictures!

It is not necessary to purchase new clothing for better images. When planning the wardrobe, do wash and dry the clothing. Immediately after drying, hang the clothes on a hanger. Or iron, if you like. The main goal is wrinkle free clothing.

Shoes do not need to be new either. New shoe laces is an inexpensive purchase to spruce up the look. Polishing leather or washing canvas shoes is another solution to brighten their appearance.

Have the socks match either the pants or shoes. This is important for anyone who may be sitting or squatting in the group. Imagine if the pants are navy blue, shoes white and you see bright green socks. Very distracting. Your eyes will go straight to the green socks and not the person’s face! However, if the socks were either white (matching shoes) or navy blue (matching pants), your eyes will flow over the person and land on the face/eyes of the person in the picture.

Take Care. Best wishes, Debra

Practicing Gratitude 3 of 31 | 101 in 1001

Hi, today I am grateful for a few reasons. First, for my husband who came up with this breakfast recipe for me. There may already be a similar recipe somewhere, but I have never seen it until Kevin made this. I call them Scrambled Egg Muffins. Originally, he used a regular sized muffin pan and sliced ham lunch meat. After several tweaks, he now uses the large muffin pan and Canadian Bacon slices. Second reason, these are quite tasty and only 4 points on the Weight Watchers program for two muffins.

Kevin never writes down his recipe, it changes each time he makes it. Should you be interested, here is a basic recipe to follow:

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Large Muffin pan, sprayed with non stick spray.

Canadian Bacon
– Two Slices per pocket
Eggs
– 18 Large Eggs Scrambled
Cheese
– Your Choice and Amount
Salt & Pepper
– To Your Liking
Chopped Green Pepper
– As Much as You Like

First, place two slices of Canadian Bacon into individual pockets.
Then add in order- green peppers (any vegetable), scrambled eggs filling the pocket half or two thirds, top with cheese.

Bake 20 minutes. Turn oven off. Turn muffin pan 180 degrees, leave in oven (door closed). Let set in oven for approx 2 minutes. Remove from oven. The eggs will be fluffy and very pretty 🙂 Once cooled, the eggs will shrink. Remove from pan, store in plastic zip bags in refrigerator. In my opinion, they are good cold or heated in microwave.

Practicing Gratitude 2 of 31 | 101 in 1001

Hi, day 2 I am grateful for my husband’s kindness for others. He visits Facebook daily. Usually at the end of his day. One evening he saw a post from a high school classmate. The classmate lives in a trailer that suffered wind damage from a recent storm. She had asked for help with the skirting. It had come loose and requested any help. She was not able to afford to pay for the labor at the time. My husband volunteered to assist with the repairs. Well, there was a second storm and she was in a similar situation. Again she posted to Facebook and Kevin volunteered.

Time had passed since the storms. The classmate recently texted Kevin. She had purchased a gift card at a local pub for him and me. I thought this was very considerate of her to include me. Kevin and I had a tasty lunch date because of his kindness for others!

Practicing Gratitude 1 of 31 | 101 in 1001

Hi, this month I will be practicing gratitude daily. The gratitude series was based on my 101 in 1001 goal and from a recent Weight Watchers meeting. Daily gratitude’s will be scheduled to post at 11:30 pm Central time, giving me the time to write about that day’s gratitude.

Touch, see, smell, taste and hear will be the senses used to express my feelings and or experiences of gratitude for that day. Some posts may be lengthy with words and pictures or a single picture.

a sight I am grateful for.
a scent I appreciate.
tune into any sounds around me
touch and texture

Benefits of practicing gratitude has incredible effects, from improving mental health to boosting relationships with others.

Today I am grateful for family. With family I am never alone. Family has been with me through fun times and hard times.
