Commercial Driver’s License | My Sunday Snapshot #25

Hi, welcome to My Sunday Snapshot 25!

This week my image is more about a change. This change was unexpected. Currently, I work 9 to 5:30 from home. This isn’t too bad one may say. For me, not the best. In no near future will I be able to work the open shift, 7 to 3:30. when I did have this shift, I was able to be in the pool by 4. Get an hour in the late afternoon sun. As it is now, the pool is mostly in the shade. I am 60, my kids are grown and I am only working for the health insurance. Otherwise I would be ‘retired’. Okay, rant over.

One of the local towns I drive thru to get to Lawrence is Tonganoxie. One day in July I had seen a huge sign that the school needs school bus drivers. Ding, ding 🙂 With an inquiring mind, I went to the USD website and looked up the description. Full time is 20 hours a week. One can select either the health insurance or vision/dental insurance premium to be covered 100%. It would be split shift, morning route and an after school route. but I would have 4 hours between the two shifts I can be floating in the water 🙂 There would also be the occasions for extra driving time with school activities. I completed the online application. So we will see. I’ll keep you posted.

One more little rant. After picking up the CDL manual and reading; there is a section on Road Rage. I found this interesting. Many times I wonder if other drivers (especially the ones out of driver’s ed) knows this. On highway’s with more than one lane traveling the same direction, the left lane is for passing, not to just drive in. Did you know this?

Here is more from Flo (Progressive).

The Secret Garden

The Secret Garden | My Sunday Snapshot #24

Hi, welcome to My Sunday Snapshot 24! I have been walking this path on several occasions. One of those walks, I encountered the morning dew. On my most recent walk, I discovered ‘the secret garden‘! I’m surprised I never noticed it before. All the privacy fences look like most fences. Each house back yard is facing the main road. You can see each house similar fences in the top image below. And then the last one in the row, ‘the secret garden‘!

Of course, I just had to take a few images of the pretty flowers. Notice the critter in the white one? Not sure what kind it is. Tried getting close to see. Can you tell what it is?

Have a wonderful week!

Morning Dew | My Sunday Snapshot #21

Hi, welcome to My Sunday Snapshot 21! Friday morning I needed to be at the hospital for my Prolia shot. Getting up early allowed me to go on a morning walk. Beautiful morning, a soft breeze, not hot, As I was walking I notice the sun sparkling off the grass dew. I tried getting a picture of the sparkles. My lens did not capture the prism off the wet grass. However, I was able to capture the water drops on the grass/weed leaves!

The little white flowers caught my eye. Not sure if a flower or weed. Cute what ever they are. Little tracks caught my eye as well. At first I thought when the critter whose wet paws made the tracks was instead created when the concrete was wet and the tracks are now permanent.

This morning walk was well needed. Started my day out right, refreshed, happy and not rushed.

Have a wonderful week!

Boom, Bang

Boom, Bang | My Sunday Snapshot #20

Hi, welcome to My Sunday Snapshot 20! My husband’s favorite holiday is Independence Day. For the past 8 years we have been driving to this one particular fireworks warehouse, PJs Fireworks in St. Joesph, MO. This year he spent more then ever before. Kevin was like a kid in a candy shop. As we rounded the end of one isle we were face to face with a new firework we have never seen. It’s the Kevin image above. Remember, my husband’s name is Kevin. We both laughed. Very fitting for him. Check out what’s in the cart below.

Of course we had to get one! Many different options to choose from. Always fun to see what he picks out.

We have a nice pond area. A small cabin with a fire pit is on one side of the pond. All the girls and kids get to set and watch as the guys are on the other side of pond lighting the fireworks.

A grand time boom, bang! I am looking forward to seeing this year’s display.

Have a wonderful week!

Scarborough Fair

Scarborough Fair | My Sunday Snapshot 17

Hi, welcome to My Sunday Snapshot 17. This week’s image was taken while my grand daughter was practicing her piano. I knew she was playing the piano and practiced every Sunday. It’s just been a while since I have heard her play. My youngest was the first to practice. Upon her request, I did not go downstairs to watch and listen to her.

Fortunately, I could hear while upstairs. The sound was lovely. When it came time for Briella to practice, she did ask me to go with her. She had three songs she practiced. Wow, I was mesmerized. It wasn’t until after she was finished that I thought to record. So I asked Brie to play the Scarborough Fair again. She told me she plays slow to concentrate on her finger placement. Then she will bring the tempo up. I like the slower tempo and told her so. If you would like to hear Brie play, click the center triangle (or center of below image) to start the video.

She’s just 12 and I am so proud of her. Thank you for allowing me to share this with you.

Have a wonderful week!

My Sunday Snapshot #16

Hi, welcome to My Sunday Snapshot 16!

Today’s image was purely unintended. The grand girls and I were trying to get the remote shutter connected to the phone when we were taking some selfies of us this weekend. We got a few bloopers. This blooper turned out rather interesting.

Have a wonderful week.

Take Care. Best wishes, Debra
